Registered Nurse - Intake

Portland, OR

RN needed to join our dedicated Community Health Services (CHS) team in a busy family practice clinic setting. Primary responsibilities for this position include completion of OB and new patient intakes, assessment and triage, and coordination of integrated patient care. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills. Bilingual language skills preferred but not required (Russian/Ukrainian, Spanish, or Mandarin/Cantonese).

CHS is a multidisciplinary team composed of social workers, community health workers, and nurses who seek to provide health services in the community and meet families where they are. This position offers you the opportunity to work as part of an integrated team as well as to make decisions and work independently in your profession. Being a Registered Nurse at YVFWC means using your skills and experience to make a difference in the lives of people in your community.

The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with occasional Saturdays, and NO HOLIDAYS.

  • Education: ADN or higher.
  • Experience: Experience in patient care as an RN preferred.
  • Licenses/Certificates/Registration: RN license for the state of practice, CPR certification within 3 months of employment, ACLS and PALS desirable. A passing score of 10 on the ALTA exam is required for bilingual differential pay.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Knowledge of established professional nursing concepts, principles of practices; ability to determine and assess the medical needs of clinic patients; must possess a thorough knowledge of all nursing procedures and be familiar with uses and effects of medications; must be able to professionally interact with a variety of employees, patients, and patient's families; and demonstrates sound independent judgment related to personal, patient, and employee's health care and safety. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
