This role can be located near any XPO Logistics Brokerage branch office.

Essential Functions

  • Prospecting of leads and heavy cold calling to build a sales pipeline; this is an outside sales “hunter” role
  • Targets and lands a minimum of 4 new accounts per month and generates approximately $3 MM in revenue by end of year one and approximately $6 MM in revenue by end of year two
  • Effectively and consistently documents all required customer activity in SalesForce, including but not limited to, keeping contact information current.
  • Effectively participate in assigned conferences
  • Develop and execute a field sales business plan
  • Price and negotiate with clients
  • Manage within the expense policy and ensure as much advance scheduling is done as possible
  • Manage expenses within the assigned budget and submit expenses in a timely manner with the proper documentation
  • This job will require the employee to travel approximately 50 percent of the time
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing or transportation and logistics; or equivalent transportation and logistics experience
  • Have four years or more of experience in truckload brokerage sales of transportation and distribution systems, preferably in truckload brokerage

Strongly Preferred Requirements

  • Dedicated, asset-based, truckload brokerage experience
  • Successfully demonstrated large account development
  • Successfully demonstrated experience in brokerage sales and sales management, and prior sales experience with a proven track record of success delivering annual sales results around revenue, gross margin targets
  • Possess well-developed interpersonal and management skills; results orientation, high integrity; collaborative style; demonstrated ability to motivate personnel; get along with diverse personalities; be decisive and establish credibility; team player
  • Effectively communicates orally and in writing to represent XPO Logistics in a highly professional, competent manner
