Xilinx is looking for a Software Engineer to work in the Software Architecture group focusing on the development of systems ranging from accelerated VNFs within an NFV infrastructure to SDN switching solutions.

In this role, you will develop software drivers, APIs, and reference designs. Hands on experience with development of Linux network device drivers, DPDK poll mode drivers, and protocol stacks is highly desired.

In addition to networking related software development, the ideal candidate will be able to apply their development skills in other areas such as video, wireless, and cloud computing applications.

Demonstrates and applies entry level competency of software coding and scripting languages as required in area of responsibility with an emphasis on C, C , and Python
Demonstrates and applies entry level competency of software build, analysis and debug tools (e.g. RDI, Purify, Valgrind, Coverity)
Proficient in Linux development environments
Software Process Adaptation and Optimization

Actively monitors Xilinx and industry communications for evolving software methodology, practices, and changes in approach

Fluent in C programming with a focus on Linux kernel network driver development.

demonstrate an understanding of communicating with hardware over a bus such as PCIe and the interactions needed to perform high-speed memory transfers using DMA.

Knowledge of IPSec and the interaction between IKE and the kernel are also highly desirable.

BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study

2-5 years' of work experience preferably in hi-tech industry - semiconductor experience would be optimal
