Job Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Site Safety and Health Specialist for our Remote/Field office during disasters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Review and assess contractor HSE programs to ensure compliance with federal, local and contract/client requirements
* Strong working knowledge and understanding of OSHA HAZWOPER as well as familiar with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), American Standards Institute (ANSI) and other safety standard programs.
* Coordinate and perform physical inspections of the project
* Prepare site specific HSE reports and provide client updates as to the progress of corrective actions on findings
* Participate in incident investigations as needed.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* 7+ years in safety and health related environments
* Broad knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, methods and techniques
* Bachelor's Degree in science related discipline or associate degree in Occupational Safety and Health
* OSHA 30, FIrst Aid/CPR
* Travel Required - Ability to travel/deploy to disaster affected area for up to 90 days

Preferred Qualifications

* 40 hour HAZWOPER
* FEMA IS 815, 100, 102, 200, 700, 800b
* EM385-1-1
