WSP USA is looking for a talented individual with deep experience in the transportation engineering industry to assume a key role as our South Carolina Transportation Leader! The successful candidate will have a technical / engineering background in civil, structural, planning, traffic, transit or related discipline and well-developed relationships with state and municipal clients throughout South Carolina. This role can be located in Columbia, Greenville or Charleston.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional staff leadership skills, the ability to demonstrate a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in managing and directing planning and engineering projects and office operations. Key to the role is the ability actively create and promote a positive office culture, and work in concert with discipline leaders in the Columbia office, as well as other WSP regional and US offices and markets to achieve the firm's overall financial and market success.

Responsibilities Include:

* Managing and/or directing office operations
* Mentoring and developing a multi-disciplined staff
* Using existing client relationships to develop strategies that position the firm for major infrastructure opportunities
* Developing new client and industry relationships
* Assisting with establishing long-range growth plans and objectives
* Assuring that professional services are commensurate with quality standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives
* Providing business operations leadership to the practice
* Leading internal and external multidiscipline teams
* Leading and participating in key project pursuit and teaming strategies

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental, Planning, or a closely related field
* 15 + years of experience in management, administration and/or financial control on multimillion-dollar transportation & infrastructure projects (with emphasis on roadway/bridge, planning or transit)
* Experience working in a leadership role
* Affiliations with professional societies and active industry and community involvement
* Must be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of and relationships with local government and private sector entities in the transportation/civil engineering market
* Professional Registration or Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience managing and delivering projects in an alternative delivery (e.g. design-build, PPP) environment is desired
