Job Description

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Supervising Engineer for our Las Vegas, Nevada office. The successful candidate will guide and coordinate major projects through design completion, demonstrating a high degree of creativity, foresight and technical judgment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manages engineering activities for all phases of an assigned project
* Lead in the formulation of advanced technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases and presentations to client
* Independently perform highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized engineering principles
* Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, budget control scheduling, cost engineering/control, quality control and project objectives
* Interact with clients, lead technical project design meetings
* Provide oversight to design team for various tasks within the scope of a project including training and supervising project team
* Coordinate with other design disciplines, including structures, hydraulics/drainage, stormwater, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way, and environmental
* Responsible for preparation of project reports, plans, specifications, and estimate bid packages
* Support efforts in proposal development, project scoping as well as with client relationship development
* Be a leader in the Las Vegas highway planning and design market. Be involved with local organizations.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
* Fifteen (15) years of related experience in the design and management of engineering activities for infrastructure projects
* Proven success in leading staff and delivering various types of infrastructure projects
* Nevada PE registration, or ability to receive within 6 months
* Experience on projects with NDOT and/or FHWA oversight
* Extensive knowledge of the southern Nevada market
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Business development experience
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation Inroads

Preferred Qualifications:

* Advanced degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program
* Proven ability to build and lead high performance teams
* Previous experience on a design team for Design-Build Projects
