WSP is currently initiating a search for a Drilling Engineer Intern for our Houston, Texas office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist experienced drilling engineers in planning, operations execution, and end-of-well reports
* Learn and assist with field operations
* Gain knowledge of project management skills from a technical and commercial perspective
* Ensure efficiency between engineering, geology, project controls, accounting, procurement, HSE, and field personnel
* Perform post-analysis by benchmarking well data to assist with scheduling, performance improvement, and risk analysis
* Make recommendations based on lessons learned
* Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* Current standing as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student actively enrolled in an ABET accredited Petroleum Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program.
* The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior internship experience in the oil and gas industry or relevant coursework
* Strong desire to learn engineering skills related to salt caverns used in underground hydrocarbon storage
* Ability to communicate clearly and honestly with technical staff
* Possess a high level of energy and enthusiasm
* Work well independently and in a team environment in a variety of business settings
* Creative problem-solving skills
