SUMMARY: The Welder plans, positions, and welds fabricated and cast components to roll over/fall over protective structures and specialized weldments in a safe and efficient manner. This position is responsible for making sure all work is done to the specifications per the work order and blueprints. The welder will inspect the finished product for quality completeness. A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives and reviews instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.
- Plans details of working procedure.
- Sets up and makes adjustments to equipment and parts as required per blue prints.
- Lays out, positions, bolts, clamp, and tack-welds parts to secure into position within fixture for welding.
- Grinds excess weld, sharp corners, or sharp protrusions using a portable pneumatic grinder.
- Uses carbon arc cutting equipment to remove welds or parts that do not meet quality specifications.
- Performs welding responsibilities on product outlined in blueprints; OPI's, quality manual, or any additional performance guidelines.
- Inspects finished product for completeness and conformance to all quality assurance procedures.
- Moves product using a cart, dolly, pallet jack, forklift, jib, or bridge crane hoist.
- Reports any conditions that may be unsafe.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a firm understanding of volts and amps and be able to adjust accordingly
- Must pass all weld certification tests as required by the quality control epartment
- Understand how to read the bill of materials
- Basic data entry skills
- Basic math skills
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions; weld symbols, and operate required tools involved in position
- Good problem solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality
- Must be able to read, follow detailed instructions and understand English
- Mechanical aptitude a plus, but not required
- Must be able to distinguish between part numbers and sizes
- Must be able to count and label parts accurately
- Must understand and follow the quality policy and procedures - detect defects
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to handle small parts
- Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 8 hrs a day

Education/Training Required:
- High School diploma or GED required
- 6 months of previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge
- Prior welding experience a plus but not required
- WI basic safety training
