This position provides administrative support for the management team within Worthington Industries. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide range of responsibilities including correspondence, appointments, reporting, accepting calls, coordinating projects and other duties as assigned. Independent judgement is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload and provide recommendations for changes in office practices or procedures.


  • Coordinate various administrative tasks, including filing, preparing new hire packets, answering the phone, answering employee questions, etc.
  • Performs administrative duties such as copy, fax, receptionist, etc.
  • Put together daily production reports
  • Performs miscellaneous project related support (assistance with or development) of work products for the HR functional area
  • Assists in event planning when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Polished, professional approach and demeanor
  • Ability to support multiple projects and personnel simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain calm, professional, pleasant attitude with internal and external contacts
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail

Education/Training Required

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior office experience
