Summary and Purpose Statement

Our organization is seeking a highly qualified Operations Technician II (Gathering) to be a member of our Wamsutter, Wyoming team. The overall purpose of the Operations Technician is to provide reliable gathering services to our customers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain dehydration equipment, pumps and methanol injection.
  • Coordinate system shutdowns, (new connects, leak repair), line pressure maintenance/pigging operations, lock out/tag out, hydrate mitigation, excavation activities, and dew point monitoring and various other duties as assigned
  • Maintains confidentialities, while demonstrating professional conduct and business ethics
  • Work independently under minimal supervision
  • Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, moderate to high-complexity assignments, which require technical evaluation, innovation and judgement
  • Able to make independent decisions, as well as, coordinate activates of others
  • Thoroughly understands industry and system requirements
  • Gather accurate data and completes daily reports
  • Participate and successfully complete all required training within Williams’ Operations Development Plan
  • Participate and successfully complete all assigned training
  • Maintain pipeline right-of-ways and all associated operational tasks
  • Operate, inspect and maintain high pressure pipelines, valves, regulators, and related instrumentation in compliance with associated DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Operations
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Embrace Safety and Environmental compliance as their number one priority
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Knowledge of natural gas equipment including:  Pipeline Operations, Dehydration, Separation, Compression, and Measurement devices
  • Intermediate level knowledge and experience within a Gas Gathering System or similar role
  • Possess knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to read prints, drawings, and technical manuals
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and possess basic computer skills
  • Ability to interface with landowners, regulatory agencies, and other
  • Makes decisions related to own work, but receives guidance from supervisor to determine the appropriate alternatives
  • Good organizational and customer relations skills
  • Must be willing to work overtime and handle call-outs as needed
  • Must live or relocate within defined geographic areas

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy related field
  • Advanced level knowledge and experience within a gas gathering system or similar role

 

Physical Requirements & Environmental Factors

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with Williams and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures due to weather conditions and operating equipment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to use physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools
  • Ability to work indoor and outdoor in and/or around industrial and electrical equipment
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to high levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50lbs
  • Must wear safety equipment while working, and must be able to lift and put on emergency apparatus and/or protective equipment when needed 
  • Ability to climb and work at various heights, as well as, work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling position
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (i.e. tanks, between compressors, vessels, etc.)
