Summary and Purpose

Our organization is seeking a skilled Asset Integrity Specialist for the Pasco District, which operates assets in Washington.  The Asset Integrity Specialist will report to the Supervisor of Asset Integrity and have a supporting relationship with the local Operations Manager. This position is primarily a field position and requires the physical capability of traversing rugged terrain on foot when required, with occasionally carrying loads of up to 30lbs in a field environment.  The successful candidate will need to relocate within 45 miles of the Pasco Williams Office.

 

Duties & Responsibilities (Cathodic Protection (CP))

• Perform periodic facility inspections and surveys
• Maintain cathodic protection equipment
• Complete all necessary documentation and database entrees
• Ensure readings and records are in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements
• Support the successful completion of WUTC and PHMSA regulatory audits
• Perform tests and support design work for future cathodic protection systems
• Coordinate cathodic protection construction projects (cathodic protection and line reconditioning)
• Support pipeline integrity surveys; including direct assessments, close interval surveys, etc.
• Lead interference testing and mitigation efforts for both A/C and D/C influences

Integrity Inspections
• Actively participate in work plan reviews, supporting operations
• Coordinate all field aspects of ILI inspections including launching, tracking and receiving pigs
• Set and/or reset above ground markers
• Work with survey and construction on anomaly dig projects to verify anomaly locations
• Complete anomaly investigations for ILI, reconditioning projects or other exposed pipe
• Perform corrosion and dent measurements, including the calculations to verify the strength of the pipeline.  Following written procedures, determine pipe repairs and communicate
• Complete and maintain all required documentation for anomaly investigations/repairs

Additional Responsibilities
• Fire Retardant clothing is required to be worn, along with other safety requirements
• Understand and become qualified on basic operational support, including understanding gas flows, and operating valves in an emergency.
• Absorb, adapt and execute additional responsibilities commensurate to the position as requested by supervisor or operations management
 

Minimum Qualifications
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills
• Be able to work in both a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision
• Expected to be on time in addition to being able to work extended hours when required
• Travel outside the normal operating area up to 15% annually
• Previously obtained a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid state driver’s license with a good driving record
• Understand basic D/C electrical circuits
• Demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and geometry
• Ability to positively interact with technical services, government agencies, emergency responders, landowners, contractors, etc.
• Have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), with the ability to become proficient with other software applications (RSTRENG, CPDM/PCS, etc.)
• Be willing to work towards and maintain a NACE certification at CP Level II – CP Technician


Preferred Qualifications
• 5 years plus, Pipeline Technician experience, with support of Integrity work
• Possess a two (2) year technical degree and/or four (4) or more years related experience
• Possess a NACE CP Level I CP Tester certification
• Possess a NACE CP Level II CP Technician certification
