Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Pipeline Controller to be a part of our McPherson, Kansas location. The Pipeline Controller will be responsible for the following:



  • Monitor and continuously evaluate system pressures and flows of Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) and Brine, as well as, other processes (degasifier and blow-down/flare systems, fresh water, etc.) from receipt points along the facilities pipeline systems to delivery points on a 24 hour-a-day, 365 day-a-year basis

  • Set flow rates, pressure set points, tank level set points at facility pipeline interconnections and delivery points

  • Monitor computer systems and alarms to ensure safe and reliable operation of the entire facility pipeline system

  • Remotely start and stop pumps to maintain system demand and pressure

  • Execute decisions regarding NGL product and brine re-rerouting and appropriate notifications during emergency situations to minimize impact to customers and shippers

  • Respond to Commercial requests for information and management of system outages

  • Receive, screen, and route calls from outside the company to appropriate Williams personnel

  • Ensure Product delivered/received meets industry specifications




  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Understand NGL products, brine, and facility equipment

  • Possess at least 1 year of experience in Pipeline Operations, Operations, or related industry

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Standing/Walking, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolds and carrying and lifting items which weigh more than 45lbs

  • Demonstrate intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc...) with overall good PC skills

  • Be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods of time

  • Possess a valid state driving license and excellent driving record

  • Ability to work in a team setting and as an individual with minimal supervision

  • Able and willing to work in extreme heat and/or cold temperatures, high noise levels, and enclosed spaces



  • Associates or two year technical degree in mechanical, electronic or related field preferred, BUT equivalent work experience will be considered
