JOB DESCRIPTION

The overall mission is to take business requirements from idea to business reality to implementation. Responsible for translating business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex IT solutions and integrating architecture. Acts as an advocate for the customer and as an authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems. Provides direction for design activities. Responsibilities include setting the project objectives and priorities and developing the various technology solutions from concept to reality. Another area of responsibility is managing business expectations and conflict resolution to keep the various projects on goal. This person will report directly to the Director of IT responsible for Order Management solutions and will have a close working relationship with the Directors of IT, PMO and Operations Management.

Areas of Direct Ownership:
* Solutions Management: Responsible for working with the various operational disciplines to develop the technical solution based on the IBM Sterling Order Management solution. This includes:
* Acts as an internal consultant, developing ideas and giving technology solution direction on complex, strategic business issues that can be solved through the use of IBM Sterling Multi-Channel Fulfillment suite of products and associated technologies.
* Develop Technology Solutions and Opportunity choices to give to the business.
* Translate the solution opportunity into business requirements that can be used by IT for analysis of build vs buy.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications for development and support purposes.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
* Minimum of 10 years of related work experience with 7+ years of experience developing technology solutions and managing multiple technical consulting projects. At least 5+ years of experience leading IBM Sterling solution implementations.
* 3+ years in a delivery oversight role such as an Engagement Manager, or Solutions Manager.
* Ability to matrix manage projects from beginning lifecycle to completion.
* Strong understanding of emerging business solutions, technologies, and delivery methodologies in the retail and direct to consumer sector.
* Strong understanding of supply chain and merchandising solutions and technologies.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to lead technical professionals.
* Ability to systematically gather relevant information from different sources to address an issue and make a prompt and insightful decision.
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
* Ability to build constructive business relationships and gain the trust of others.
* Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across workgroups.
* Proven experience in developing and executing plans, meeting deadlines and operating under tight time constraints.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience in making articulate and effective oral presentations to different audiences.
* Excellent interpersonal skills including such areas as team spirit, negotiation, collaboration, pitching in where needed, and respecting individuals at all levels.
* Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage external vendors.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Ability to work collaboratively and influence others within a matrix environment.
