About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, motivated Oracle DBA to support our mission critical Retail Merchandising, Customer, Marketing and eCommerce systems.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

-Principle database engineer for business critical production databases.
-Support, administer and maintain production and non-production database environments primarily running on the AIX platform.
-Implement and maintain proactive database monitoring for space issues, database locking, performance issues, and other key metrics.
-Work with the development and application support teams to identify, triage and resolve performance issues using diagnostic tools such as AWR, ADDM etc...
-Analyze, optimize and tune advanced complex SQL queries and their associated execution plans using command line tools.
-Deploy and maintain high availability & failover technologies such as Data Guard and Real Application Clusters to maximize database availability.
-Create, clone and upgrade environments to support implementation activities as required.
-Define, implement and support Backup and Recovery policies using RMAN and/or storage level replication technologies.
-Perform database restore and recovery in the event of an outage.
-Define, implement, and enforce security standards for the database in compliance with company policies as well as compliance frameworks including SOX and PCI.
-Ensure sensitive data is appropriately protected via industry standard encryption solutions.
-Work with the appropriate teams (Security, Compliance, Internal Audit, and External Auditors) to review security policies, participate in annual audits, and implement the appropriate remediation measures.
-Contribute to, and update systems documentation as required.
-Participate in 24x7 support rotation.

We're excited about you because...

-BS/BA or equivalent work experience, Masters Preferred
-8+ years Oracle DBA experience in a production environment working with Oracle 11g and above
-Experience supporting mission critical 24x7 systems
-Experience with replication technologies such as Goldengate, Data Guard and IBM CDC (Datamirror) a plus
-Excellent Unix/Linux shell scripting skills
-Proven experience in tuning databases / queries
-Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
-Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule
-Experience with security monitoring and encryption tools
-Experience with Oracle Retail (RMS), Sterling or eComm systems a plus
