Finishing Design Coordinator - West Elm

The "Finish Team" coordinates all assortment "Finish Design Needs" for all new product developments, across multiple categories. Brand, Hospitality and Contract. We coordinate/collaborate directly with Design, Merchants and Sourcing to gain new product speed to market while ensuring finish quality and consistency throughout our sample design process with a seamless flow directly into all current and future production requirements. This is a strategic standard alignment process in all countries and at all vendors, throughout our current Global matrix . This process continues to expand and evolve as our focused strategies and requirements change and our company grows.

The Finish Design Coordinator's role will directly impact the entire (PD) process by becoming an integral part of the Finish Design Team! More specifically, by assisting to better streamline its function and assist the teams to respond more efficiently and timely to all aspects of the product Finish Design coordination requirements. This job position will have a direct line of report to the Finish Design Manager, our VP of Sourcing and a dotted line of report to the the Senior Finish Design Coordinator and our VP of Design. In order to maintain this area of continued growth and expansion, the need for this additional resource is extremely critical to keep us on task, effective, efficient and aligned with the business strategy moving forward.

Essential Functions:
* Identify new finishes and trends through competitive analysis, trade shows, and design blogs and magazines.
* Assist with the set up seasonal design concept presentations. (pre-sketch, sketch, assortment, and investment reviews)
* Work closely with the Finish Design Engineer and furniture design team to create the seasonal finish assortment following concept and needs list presentations.
* Manage finish panel receipt, review, and approval for all furniture categories.
* Manage finish information at SKU level in FlexPLM. Update weekly.
* Respond to all PLM inquiries.
* Send panels to vendors.
* Review panels with Finish Engineer and Designers and provide comments to vendors.
* File panels and maintain finish panel library.
* Manage panel refreshes.
* Manage finish panel log.
* Attend all pertinent PD meetings.
* Update design owners on pertinent finish information daily.

* Bachelor's Degree
* Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with Cross Functionals
* Ability to think outside the box
* Have experience working communicating with all levels.
* Microsoft Programs
* Illustrator and Photo Shop a Plus!
