About Wild Birds Unlimited

Wild Birds Unlimited is the original and largest franchise system of backyard birdfeeding and nature specialty stores with over 270 locations throughout the United States and Canada. Jim Carpenter opened his first retail shop, specializing in birdfeeders and seed, on the north side of Indianapolis in 1981, and began franchising the concept in 1983. The company specializes in expert information and offers and exclusive line of products designed specifically for the hobby of backyard birdfeeding. In April 1999, Wild Birds Unlimited was ranked number one in Success Magazine's annual Franchise Satisfaction Survey. Wild Birds Unlimited also created the Pathways to Nature Conservation Fund, which sponsors education, conservation and wildlife viewing projects at wildlife refuges, sanctuaries and parks throughout North America to help bird and nature lovers enjoy the natural world beyond their backyards.
