Adjunct Medical/Surgical Clinical Instructor

Widener University's School of Nursing (SON) has vacancies for Medical/Surgical Adjunct Clinical Instructors. These positions support the educational experiences of the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students. There are three medical/surgical nursing courses. Medical/surgical nursing I occurs in long term care facilities. Medical/surgical nursing II and III occurs in the acute care environment. The job responsibilities of the medical/surgical adjunct clinical instructor include creating patient assignments prior to the start of the clinical day, supervising 8 students in all aspects of care of patients/clients, reviewing and providing feedback for all written clinical assignments, submission of grades for assignments as directed by course coordinator, providing weekly feedback to students in the clinical area, completing midterm/final clinical evaluations, communication of all issues at the clinical site with the course coordinator, completion of all clinical hours assigned to the course and writing letters of recommendations as requested by students.

Job Qualifications:

Requirements for position: MSN required but will consider BSN prepared nurses currently enrolled in an MSN program. All adjuncts must complete criminal background checks, child abuse checks and clinical requirements prior to starting through an external company.

Preference will be granted for candidates with Clinical Instructor experience.
