Position Overview:

* Intern will get an exposure to the day-to-day execution of the email marketing programs in support of business to business brand objectives. This position will help build and execute highly targeted promotional and loyalty triggered emails, using responsive HTML templates
* The Email Marketing Co-OP Intern will use their expertise of email marketing best practices and data-driven processes to help create exceptional campaigns for WEX.
* Intern will draft press releases, research on various topics related to our business, communications, public relations and social media,

post to corporate social media accounts and blog, compile data to draft presentations, provide support at company events, as well as draft, proof and edit communications.

What you will be doing:

* Handle the delivery, customer list creation and segmentation, personalization and messaging, scheduling, analytics and test-and-learn strategies for all customer engagement email marketing communications

* Design user segments and implement automated email journeys for a variety of customer types

* Collaborate with our in-house designers

* Collaborate with our channel team on email strategy and testing roadmaps by staying ahead of new developments in email and other channels

* Deliver analysis and reporting of campaign and operational email performance; communicate results and provide/implement improvement recommendations

* Identify enhancements needed to increase email list growth, decrease opt-out rate and increase email performance

* Ability to translate business requirements into detailed software and technical specifications for the various stages of analysis process (initial requirements, data mapping, data flow, data processing, testing etc.).

Who we are looking for:

* Candidates must be currently enrolled in school (our program is open to both undergraduate and graduate students).
* Candidates must have the technical skills required for the work and pass a rigorous interview process geared toward assessing creativity, innovation, and technical abilities.
* Candidates should be curious, innovative, and willing to learn.
* Candidates must demonstrate clear and concise communication, both verbal and written.
* Working knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, Excel, Google Analytics
* The role requires expertise in e-mail marketing and e-mail marketing platforms such as QuickPivot, Eloqua, Mailchimp, Marketo or other major email marketing solutions and Photoshop. Experience with CRM platforms such as SalesForce preferable.
* Understanding of email marketing best practices and response optimization techniques.

* Experience making data-driven decisions using analytics, A/B testing, and campaign reports and dashboards.

* Combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

* Project management and multi-tasking skills. Ability to operate in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment

* Exposure to SQL is plus

* Solid relational database understanding is also a plus

Preference given to the following:

* QuickPivot system experience

* Eloqua system experience

* SalesForce system experience
