Job Description

The qualified candidate for this position will lead the team through the requirements gathering process, write detailed business and functional specifications, serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical team members, and prepare and present documentation of business and technical presentations. In addition, the Lead Business Analyst will oversee the work product of other business analysts, providing coaching and mentoring on best practices in requirements specifications.


* Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, and requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
* Interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
* Communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze and transform needs and goals into functional requirements; delivering the appropriate artifacts as needed
* Work with operational leaders within the business to provide recommendations on opportunities for process improvements, cost savings or revenue enhancements
* Create Business Requirements Documents, Work Flow Diagrams, Matrices, Presentations, and Training Materials, as needed, to effectively communicate the desired functionality
* Actively participate in all stages of project development including research, design, programming, testing and implementation to ensures the released product meets the intended functional and operational requirements
* Contributes to project update meetings, and documents project status and issues
* Actively pursues issue resolution
* Maintain product backlog; assist product owner with backlog grooming
* Document user stories and acceptance criteria when appropriate
* Review work product from other business analysts and provide recommendations on how to improve their work product

* 7+ years experience as a business analyst in a project related/PMO environment
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business or Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or related discipline
* Healthcare experience required, Dental experience highly desired
* Must possess organizational proficiencies to multi-task with multiple initiatives simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment under limited supervision with excellent follow-through on detailed tasks
* Full project lifecycle experience required
* Project management experience a plus
* College degree required
* Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
* CBAP and/or IIBA certification preferred
* Agile experience desirable
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
* Experience managing stakeholder relationships
* Experience with Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint required
* Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
* Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills
