SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

JOB TITLE: Business Analyst

REQUISITION: KAN009M

DEPARTMENT: Customer Systems Support- Kansas City Headquarters or Topeka General Office

LOCATION: Kansas City, MO or Topeka, KS

PAY RANGE: $47,200- $83,500

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as required.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst will primarily be working with the Customer and Meter Operations and Experience business units to outline project requirements and clearly communicate those requirements to all stakeholders. The Business Analyst will serve as an integral member of the I.T. team by defining, analyzing, and documenting business requirements at the project level, communicate and collaborate with the business and developers, and translate the business needs to the team. The Business Analyst creates key design documents to include end-to-end current and future business process flows and use case analysis. The Business Analyst requires strong communication skills including the ability to facilitate Business and technical requirement meetings and reviews, keep stakeholders focused on a common goal, and the ability to effectively document the Business and technical requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer / Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field. The ideal candidate will have 5 years' experience of hands-on design and implementation of IT solutions, preferably in the Energy/Utility sector and the Customer Care / Meter Operations domains. Experience working in an Agile environment with SCRUM teams preferred. Entry- level candidates will be considered.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

* Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills including ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedule.
* Understanding of software development lifecycles (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) with an emphasis on Agile development with SCRUM teams.
* Experience with utility operational systems such as:

o Customer Information System (CIS)

o Outage/Network Management System (OMS/NMS

o Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)

o Meter Data Management System (MDM)

o Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)

* Lead and direct the work of others outside of formal authority.
* Ability to conceptualize the complex ERP systems that have a combination of delivered and custom product.
* Gathering, documenting, and designing functional, non-functional and data requirements.
* Knowledge of the programming languages .Net, Java, SQL/PL SQL
* Advanced ability to analyze business requirements quickly to determine and assess feasibility
* Proficient in writing business and technically oriented documents.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Lead various stakeholders and develop consensus around the best solutions for the business.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing:

Valid driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

Normal office working conditions. Some travel to other locations may be required. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.

The Company is engaged in providing electric generation, transmission and distribution services to approximately 679,000 customers in Kansas.
