Job Description

The Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources & Design at West Virginia University is seeking applicants for a temporary Accounting Assistant. The Accounting Assistant provides accounting and budgetary assistance to the Director and faculty/staff in the Division of Plant and Soil Sciences in the Davis College.

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

* Monitor the accounting functions on accounts, Mountaineer Marketplace, PCard transactions, purchase orders, etc.
* Provide information and guidance to the Division Director and/or faculty PI's upon request.
* Work in MAP system(s) to reconcile charges.
* Receive and deposit funds into various Division accounts (state, foundation and/or grant), completes required paperwork.
* Utilize the MAP system check grant balances for faculty as needed or requested.
* Maintain confidential records pertaining to budget.
* Assist employees with applications for new credit card requests, execution of transactions, monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing departmental expenditures.
* Assist Division Director with daily operations of the Division as needed.

Length of assignment: 8.5 months

Pay Grade: 12

* Associate degree in business administration or related field or equivalent education and experience to qualify. Prefer understanding the disciplines and work types in PSS and the College.
* At least 1 year of related experience is required.
