Job Description

The West Virginia University School of Public Health is seeking applications for a part-time Professional Technologist I. This position is responsible for research, design, development and maintenance of entry level/minor information technology projects and provide general AV/ IT assistance.

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

* Provide support in the installation and configuration of workstations, laptops, videoconferencing hardware, and peripheral devices.
* Has primary support responsibility for the client side of the client/server networks in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).
* Responsible for supporting all technical support needs for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute
* Provide support in the implementation and operation of network resources.
* Provides daily support in resolving daily technical problems that may arise with computer hardware, software, and video conferencing systems and data storage.
* Maintain, update, generate reports in OLLI databases and network systems.
* Individual will update and maintain all educational resources available through the organization as they relate to computer needs.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation and records
* Maintain, grow, and develop web presence, social media, online catalog and documents.


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field;


* Or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and related work experience which can include Intern/Student/Mountaineer Temp experience.


* Office Experience and AV/IT computer experience preferred


* Training or equivalent experience in using AuguSoft Lumens, Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OSX and various other operating systems, and databases.


* Knowledge of installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Audio Video equipment (microphones, receivers, transmitters, and projectors), computer lab and classroom technology and equipment.


* Understanding of IT/AV technology work plan development, interpretation and analysis


* Knowledge of installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting software (both Windows and Mac) and hardware (workstations and laptops).


* Knowledge of troubleshooting peripherals such as scanners and printers.


* In depth knowledge of productivity software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database.
