Job Description

The West Virginia University School of Nursing is seeking applications for an Administrative Associate. This position is responsible for the day to day operation of the School of Nursing Clinical Practice Skills Lab by performing various administrative and programmatic tasks.

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

* Serves as the initial point of contact for the Nursing Clinical Practice Skills Lab to appropriately answer questions on scheduling, usage, equipment and supplies.

* Provides updates to Director on utilization of Clinical Practice Skills Lab.

* Train faculty and graduate nurses on use on Vital Sim simulators for use in clinical simulation with nursing students.

* Assists students in Clinical Practice Skills Lab practice time through assessing student's needs, and distributing appropriate equipment/supplies for skill being practiced.

* Independently schedules and proposes dates to Director and Course Coordinators in the School of Nursing for all nursing clinical practice and simulation.

* Responsible for reconciling own Pcard transactions in MyExpenses for supervisor and EBO approvals.

* Provides training and guidance to student workers. Set work goals to meet the requirements of faculty teaching in the Clinical Practice Skills Lab

* Assists with and conduct tours of Clinical l Practice Skills lab and WV STEPS.

* Independently organizes and implements set-up of labs.

Pay Grade: 14

* Associate's degree in Nursing, Business, or health related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Two (2) years of administrative experience
* Knowledge of basic nursing skills and terminology
* Working knowledge of University policy and procedures related to budgetary and purchasing matters
* Accounts payable methods and procedures
* Knowledge of MAP, DataMiner, BANNER and Learning Space preferred
* Experience workingin an academic setting
* Good keyboarding and computer skills required using several application including Microsoft Office, Outlook
* Proven skills in interacting with the public, including diverse students in a fast pace atmosphere
* Good financial transaction processing and budgeting skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately and professionally.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team.
* Knowledge of some medical terminology and mastery of basic nursing skills
