Job Description

The College of Business & Economics at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Data Manager. This position is responsible for serving as the primary contact for all school-wide data reporting and analysis requests regarding monitoring student outcomes (retention & graduation), systems administration, Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business administration, and course evaluation administration.

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

* Utilize data analysis and information systems in the production of ad hoc reports, along with relevant analysis, as requested. Reporting needs may include grade distributions, credit hour analysis, degrees awarded, enrollment prerequisites, diversity initiatives, and early progress grade performance.
* Create custom interactive reports and decision-making information systems for College administrators.
* Serve as administrator for Digital Measures for the College by designing customized reports for the College, and interpret utilized data for decision making rationales.
* Oversee student enrollment data management by creating and maintaining a system that reports credit hours by semester and by program.
* Perform data reporting for the various ranking surveys and college choice publications.
* Prepare summaries and reports, and conduct predictive analyses on issues identified by the Dean's Office to help inform constructed performance metrics critical to the College.
* Perform data mining and analysis of student and institutional data, relating to student outcome efforts, to monitor and improve graduation and retention rates.
* Design data models and dashboards for College administrators to visually monitor student outcomes.
* Oversee key performance indicators for AACSB accreditation by creating and maintaining accurate and interactive executive level information systems to analyze AACSB data.
* Bachelor's degree in management information systems, statistics, data analytics or related field required; master's degree preferred
* One (1) year of experience collecting, researching, and analyzing data and producing management reports for administrative data driven decision support
* Demonstrated experience with database programming
* Demonstrated complex analytical thinking skills and attention to detail
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies and how they apply in the B&E setting
