Job Description

The Management Information Systems Department at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track or tenured Management Information Systems position beginning August 15, 2019, or, if not filled, January 1, 2020. This position is a tenure track, 9-month faculty appointment in support of a college-level, online graduate program in Business Cybersecurity and undergraduate face-to-face and online programs in MIS and Cybersecurity.

Candidates must have a demonstrated record of excellence in research with the potential to establish an independent research program and a commitment to excellence in university teaching. Candidates must have knowledge, skill and interest in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in the topics of cybersecurity and networking or similar topics.

West Virginia University (WVU) is a public, comprehensive, land grant institution founded in 1867. It is the flagship doctoral degree-granting institution in the state. * Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. before the start date of the position in one of the following fields: management information systems, information sciences, computer science, business administration or a related field. Candidate at the Associate level must have a track record of high level research published in well-regarded journals, and a teaching record demonstrating excellence in the classroom.
* Candidates are expected to teach graduate and undergraduate classes in topics related to the areas of Cyber Security, Network Security, Security Management, Computer Forensics, and Application Security.
* Demonstrated ability to do research in cybersecurity and/or related fields.
* A willingness to actively participate in college and university committees, as well as to perform outreach activities.
* Applicants must be fluent in writing and speaking English.
