Job Description

Darigold is seeking a temporary Accounting Specialist to join our financial team. The purpose of the Accounting Specialist is to collect past due receivables on assigned customer accounts and support the Accounts Receivables team with being able deliver high quality and detailed account analysis so that the company. Success in this role means you are able to ensure that payments are received within approved terms; accounts are reconciled & resolution to discrepancies such as shortages and unauthorized deductions are delivered in a timely manner; customer base information is maintained; and account issues with internal and external resources/clients are also resolved in a timely manner. At this time this role is temporary.

The ideal candidate for this role has been successful in collecting on outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing customers, resolving customer billing issues, and reducing accounts receivable delinquency; or you've had exposure to such environment and have a deep interest and drive to grow your career in accounting & finance. You also have a keen eye for detail & accuracy; are self-disciplined and capable of prioritizing and delivering on critical tasks independently; you're a team player; enjoy helping solving problems; and have excellent customer service skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):

* Assists in solving problems, sharing ownership of results by collaborating with external and internal customers, while maintaining a high degree of integrity with the team
* Validates A/R transactions and remedies all unapplied cash using reconciliation skills, available system tools and supporting documentation
* Works directly with external/internal customers to secure information and supporting documentation for adjustment requests
* Secure all chargeback documentation and present findings to Customer for further collections
* Communicate findings in an organized manner with solutions or recommendations
* Ensures timely delivery of all documented findings and actionable items
* Supports the collection effort and overall DSO results by being a proactively involved team member

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Able to perform a variety of complicated tasks and have the flexibility to prioritize
* Ability to learn quickly
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to develop and maintain client relationship with internal and external customers
* Must be able to prioritize and work independently
* Excellent organizational skills
* 10 Key by touch
* Knowledge of general ledgers a plus
* Strong ability to reconcile issues
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include advanced Excel skills

Education, Experience and Certifications:

* 1+ years of experience with accounts recievable administration or closely related experience
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
* Experience in the Food Industry or manufacturing a plus
* Credit and Collections experience a plus
* Exposure to a financial systems, Oracle finance system a plus
