Department Overview

The Capital Markets Accounting Operations Center of Excellence was established to bring the controller activities into one centralized team within the Controllers division that delivers expertise on anything and everything that touches the ledger. This team focuses on reconciliations and controls on fixed income, securities, and derivatives for Traded Products. The group performs reconciliations of books and records across Well Fargo Securities supporting the corporate general ledger, stock record, depositories, custodial positions, and SEC/regulatory reporting.

About the Role

Account Recon Package - The daily recon package is prepared for the primary FX SORs as well as various GL accounts from the Oracle GL. The account reconcilement scope to be transitioned is limited to supporting the daily reconcilement package by completion of the package schedules and research only of open items. The research will be passed to the US-based team to complete the reconcilement of the accounts, including the completion of adjustments as necessary.

Review of Suspense Items Account outstanding items - On a daily basis, the EGS team member will review the outstanding items in the Suspense Items GL account. Where appropriate, the team member will: match items to clear them, put comments on outstanding items for purposes of tracking the item or for research by a US-based Accounting team member, refer items to teams outside FX operations for research and resolution, follow-up with US based team members on unresolved items.

Responsibilities:

* Oracle GL Reports/Opics Plus daily reports - Run reports on IrisWeb and copy Opics branch reports and format in excel.
* Review outstanding items in Intellimatch and research using MTS, Buffett files and OPICS to determine when open items will clear or indicate need for research. Contact other teams to follow up with some open items.
* Subsystem Reconcilement Presentation Layer - Download daily filed into Excel and save
* Daily Checklist/ Daily checklist Summary/DCM Upload - Prepare daily Checklist summary from schedules prepared by other Accounting team. Note status of items and follow up with team members on clearing outstanding items outstanding items and report
* Foreign Exchange Accounting Daily Manual Reconciliation

Market Skills and Certifications

Essential Qualifications

* Candidates must be college graduates, completing a 4-year degree preferably in Accounting
* Must have at least 2 years of experience in accounting preferably in investment accounting serving banking and financial entities
* Must be proficient in creating reports in Excel, has the ability to maximize use of formulas and functions to streamline reporting needs. Basic understanding of macros programming using VBA/Access is highly preferred.
* Familiarity in portfolio or securities accounting such as securities, commodities, investment funds, derivatives and especially foreign exchange
* Must have in-depth background in compiling and analyzing financial information in preparing entries to accounts, such as general ledgers and document business transactions.
* Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions
* Ability to resolve accounting discrepancies
* Must be able to establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
* Candidates must be willing to work in morning shifts (4:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
