Job Description

Deputy District Attorney I

Perform professional entry level legal work which may include responsibility for criminal prosecution of misdemeanors and traffic offenses in County Court.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Render legal advice to law enforcement agencies.

•Attend arraignments, pre-trial conferences, sentencing conferences in assigned areas.

•Prepare and present jury trials and trials to the Court

•Assist District Court Deputy in trials, as required.

•Assist citizens on the phone or walk-in clients.


Detention Deputy Sheriff's office

The Detention Deputy I is an entry level unarmed security position receiving training to competently work one of three general post assignments; Booking, pod and floor to include visitation or Master Control. A Detention Deputy I relies heavily upon interpersonal communication skills and techniques and writing skills to prepare accurate, and sometimes extensive documentation, reports and court testimony. All post assignments perform activities necessary to maintain the health, safety, security and welfare of jail staff and incarcerated individuals (inmates). These activities include, but are not limited to, distribution of hygienic supplies, laundry, mail and facilitation of medical, dental, visitation, special programs or group activities and recreation. All assignments require rotating shifts since we maintain jail functions 24 hours daily, seven (7) days a week.

Medicolegal Investigator Coroner's office

Join an expanding team in one of the nation's fastest growing counties. Conduct investigations of unattended deaths in the Coroner's jurisdiction; notify and interact extensively with families; present cases to the forensic pathologist; prepare detailed reports regarding the manner and cause of death; sign death certificates, as required.

The position requires shift work; some on-call required, but new staffing limits call exposure. May act as a resource or expert in medicolegal death investigation, providing technical guidance to police prosecutors and less experienced staff.
