Job Description

Assembly Worker Weir Specialty Pumps, a leader in the global pump manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced Assembly Worker to be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Key Responsibilities Performs mechanical-type assembly in building finished products (pumps) from component parts. Qualifications Must have a minimum of two years of pump experience (i.e., pump assembly design, rebuilding pumps) or three to four years assembly/mechanical experience. Must be able to operate power tools and have mechanical ability. Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints. The shift for this position is 7 AM 3:30 PM. Business Need / Purpose of Role:

The purpose of the role of Assembly is to performs mechanical-type assembly in building finished products (pumps) from component parts. 

 

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities:

•   Performs mechanical-type assembly in building finished products (pumps) from component parts. 

•   Cleans work area as needed.

•   Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications:

•   Must have a minimum of two years of pump experience (i.e., pump assembly design, rebuilding pumps).

•   Must have three to four years assembly/mechanical experience.

•   Must be able to operate power tools and have mechanical ability.

•   Must be able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.

•   Must be able to carry out oral and written instructions.

•   Must have own tools.

  • Basic welding skills preferred.
 

Core Competencies:

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional

journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Computer Skills:

AS 400, Microsoft Office
