We are committed to providing our customers with great tasting, healthy meals and know that means starting with the best people behind the scenes at our Culinary Innovation Center. As a Team Member III, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and packaging all the fine ingredients to be used in producing Wegmans “Ready to Cook” and “Ready to Eat” products. You’ll be an integral member of the CIC, getting products one step closer to being enjoyed by our customers. If you have a passion for preparing quality meal items and enjoy working with food then this is the place for you!

I will add value by:
• Preparing raw ingredients to be used by Team Members I to make soups, sauces, marinades and other “Ready to Cook” and “Ready to Eat” products
• Following recipes to gather and prepare ingredients, correctly measuring and storing items using proper equipment to ensure a consistent outcome
• Following a production list and multi-tasking to complete assignments in the most efficient way possible
• Informing team members of actions completed by properly labeling all containers and carts, filling out log sheets, and completing tasks on batch cards
• Performing quality checks and properly handling products to ensure they meet Wegmans food safety standards
• Practicing safety techniques, complying with equipment maintenance and usage guidelines and labor laws, safely completing work, and maintaining a clean work environment
• Reporting any discrepancies in food and human safety to a supervisor using effective communication practices

What abilities I must bring to the table to be considered:

 • Provide incredible service and gain the trust and respect of others by providing accurate information and responding to situations in a timely manner, listening carefully and acting with customers in mind
• Recognize and seek opportunities for continuous learning to gain new understandings, skills and knowledge
• Utilize resources to educate self and others about product uses and characteristics, being sure to share acquired product knowledge
• Possess organizational skills, prioritizing requests and department activities while managing interruptions and attending to details to complete tasks within deadlines
• Write and speak clearly, concisely and with tact in a variety of settings using effective communication skills; demonstrating empathy and respect for others at all times
• Exhibit adaptability when faced with changes in the workplace, remaining positive, calm and focused when under pressure or when dealing with ambiguous situations
• Possess teamwork and diversity awareness by listening to others' points of view and recognizing and appreciating differences

What will set me apart from other candidates:
• Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
• Experience working in a grocery retail setting, preferably in a perishable department
• Able to problem solve, anticipating, analyzing, and identifying problems, responding quickly when situations arise and preventing problems when possible

Employment at Wegmans maybe contingent upon your completion and our evaluation of a physical, drug screen and/or criminal background check.
