In this highly selective program, you will give be given the opportunity to learn about Wegmans while honing your skills, working with talented Executive Chefs in our innovative, vibrant, high volume food stores.

As the Culinary Extern/Intern, you will be part of a team of caring, diverse, and knowledgeable culinarians who love serving our customers while you grow personally and professionally by rotating throughout the store, following our core training menu, to develop expert culinary techniques while working on a project to continuously improve our one-of-a-kind culinary shopping experience.

As a Culinary Extern, you are mentored by store and division leadership who will guide your experience while you learn how to successfully gain exposure to Wegmans Food Markets Inc. A typical program may consist of the following:
Attending weekly meetings with mentor to review previous weeks learnings and addressing concerns
Gaining exposure to reporting metrics
Performing department rotations; spending time in multiple departments throughout the store including Cheese, Produce, Seafood, Meat, Pizza, Sub shop, Bakery, Prepared Foods, Wokery and Sushi to gain an overview of each department and position within the departments while producing high quality foods and providing incredible customer service
Successfully completing a variety of workshops including; Food Safety, Staying Safe on the Job, Allergen Awareness, Diversity Awareness, Incredible Customer Service, Simplification, and Knowledge based service
Presenting a new, innovative and profitable Prepared Meal promotional idea to increase sales/contribution related to Culinary Area
What abilities I must bring to the table to be considered:
A college student working towards a degree in the Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field
Knowledge of basic culinary techniques including basic knife skills and cooking techniques
What will set me apart from other candidates:
Associates degree in the Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field
Strong interest in relocating to our new market areas based on company's need upon graduation
