In this area, you will be responsible for ensuring customers have access to fresh produce from around the world. How do I make a difference?
Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Customer Service
Proactively approach customers, educate them about unique product offerings, make suggestions for meal solutions, and help to locate products
Educate team members about products in the department, understanding how different varieties of fruits and vegetables are supposed to look and smell and recognizing the difference between organic and non-organic products.
Ensuring High Quality Products & Ingredient:
Create production lists, maintain inventory levels, and delegate tasks to team members, being certain to provide timely feedback to help employees progress
Ensure team members maintain the overall appearance of the department and products are well-merchandised in displays that showcase quality and Peak of Perfection items
Cut, package, weigh and label a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for each "Take-It" meal solutions
Unload and break down deliveries in backroom, stock displays, refill products to meet customer needs while rotating for freshness and following procedures on shrinking out-dated products
Educate team members and ensure they are properly handling products, using equipment, keeping accurate logs and following sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

What skills, learnings, and experiences are required?
Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting

Learn, use and be able to explain Wegmans sanctioned cooking techniques to assist customers for their success at home
What skills, learnings, and experiences are preferred and will set me apart?
Experience ordering products and controlling inventory
Experience working on a farm
Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching
Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 5 - 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally
May be exposed to various allergens and work environments including cold temperatures and wet conditions
Work may require the safe and proper handling of knives and food processing equipment
Will be required to spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours
