What is my job: 

The  Technical Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of facility systems including utilities, material handling and electrical.  This position will assist and support the Material Handling, Utilities Coordinators and Electrical Coordinators as needed.


How do I make a difference? 

Continuously Improving Results

  • Monitor, coordinate and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on systems including material handling equipment, high voltage electrical systems, industrial refrigeration and other specialized systems
  • Act as primary point of contact for service providers for systems/area of responsibility
  • Perform annual contractor reviews
  • Support other Technical Coordinators with cross functional responsibilities in Material Handling equipment and Utilities
  • Work to identify and eliminate safety issues while supporting best practices in all efforts
  • Interact with employees from other departments, as well as outside vendors and agencies.  Ensure that specific feedback is communicated to appropriate people or teams

What skills, learnings, and experiences are required?

  • Possess a strong background in maintenance practices, to include at least 5 years of experience maintaining and operating systems in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Associates degree in related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), preferably Allen Bradley
  • Sound mechanical ability
  • Able to read and understand electrical blueprints and other related technical documents
  • Experience working with diesel generators, 3-phase power distribution, and low-voltage controls
  • Knowledgeable on all regulatory standards applicable to area of responsibility
  • Experience working with computers and able to learn new systems quickly
  •  Interest in growing into a leadership role within the maintenance organization
  • Effectively deal with ambiguity, handling risk and uncertainty with comfort, maintaining effectiveness in the face of change and acting on decisions without having the total picture
  • Coming up with new, unique ideas using creative thinking while making connections among previously unrelated notions
  • Cross-functional collaboration: initiate dialogue around different points-of-view to find a common ground; lead interdepartmental teams, facilitating organizational consensus and creating synergies to arrive at the best business outcome
  • Exhibit organizational agility identifying and establishing relationships with people in the company who can get things done and use formal and informal channels effectively
  • Use multiple resources to analyze data for abnormal findings, further investigating where warranted and identifying cause-effect relationships impacting the data
  • Use action planning techniques associated with completing tasks including scoping out the length and difficulty of projects, breaking down work into processed steps, managing deadlines and making adjustments for multiple demands
  • Advise others within the organization, as well as external business partners, using relevant knowledge and skills to ensure that sound business decisions are made

  • Experience with project management, communicating goals and responsibilities to the team being sure to monitor performance against a project plan and effectively applying project controls. Include project stakeholders, team members, and subject matter experts in order to get things done
  • Experience with risk evaluation: proactively identifying areas of potential risk exposure, thoroughly analyzing the situation to ensure the financial investment of a solution makes sense and implementing cost-effective controls to mitigate risk

Work environment: 

  • Work will be predominantly performed in an industrial/manufacturing setting 
  •  Work generally involves continuous interactions with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Will be required to spend the majority of time sitting or standing without a break for up to 4 hours
  • May be exposed to various allergens
  • Will be exposed to various climate changes, including temperatures as low as -20 degrees F
  • Will be required to work from heights of up to 50 feet, and climb ladders
  • Must meet minimum requirements to wear canister gas mask and self contained breathing apparatus
  • Must be 18 years or older

  •  This position will require operating a company vehicle.  Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and will be required to submit to a Driver's Abstract.
