As the Team Leader in this area, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the department as well as managing and developing a team of employees, ensuring customers are receiving the incredible service Wegmans prides itself on!

  • Use knowledge of product, and trends to plan, and create innovative, eye-catching, well-merchandised displays; forecast seasonal and holiday needs; rotate products to drive sales
  • Maintain department appearance, functionality, and efficiency; unload deliveries, refill, and clean bins, sweep floors, service scales, maintain backroom
  • Utilize Wegmans recipe to make, and package peanut butter; maintain and clean equipment

Results (What We Measure)

  • Oversee all Bulk Food operations, including ordering, scheduling, and managing payroll; relay pertinent information to Store Management
  • Ensure proper handling of products, use of equipment; ensure food & human safety, simplification, company policies and procedures are followed

Work Environment

  • Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, frequent lifting, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers. The average weight range of items lifted is 8-32 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
  • Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit. Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer Service experience, preferably in a food service industry, grocery or retail setting
  • Experience ordering products and controlling inventory
  • Managerial/supervisory experience

  • Self-motivated and decisive thinker, able to take direction as well as work independently
