Prepared Foods Assistant Manager

Job Posting: 03/20/2018 Job ID: R0004938 Location: Chestnut Hill, MA Address: Chestnut Hill, 200 Boylston Street Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older. Days Hours Req: Full time applicants will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and must be available Monday through Saturday throughout the year, including some holidays. Sundays are not required but will be paid at time and one half. Shifts vary based on department and typically include a variety of early mornings, afternoons and evenings for all employees. Schedule: Full-time

In the role, you will provide Wegmans customers solutions to entertainment questions varying from product features & benefits and menu suggestions to complete entertainment planning. Working with departments in prepared foods and throughout the store, you will drive sales by selling catering/entertaining items and creating interest and enthusiasm for our products and services, while providing the award winning incredible customer service Wegmans is known for.

  • Pair products which complement each other by using taste profiles which match customer needs

Results (What We Measure)

  • Bring products to life for customers, showcasing items utilizing print materials (entertain catalog, menu magazine) and sensory experiences (Chefs case, Food bars) for the customer
  • Increase sales by cross selling products from all departments
  • Gather and assemble data for analysis including; items sold, net sales and labor
  • Use good judgment to make exceptions to company guidelines maintaining a balance between customer satisfaction and financial impact to the store
  • Increase sales by learning about and targeting new or company driven products
  • Partner with Department and Area Manager to identify products to sell, setting sales goals, and analyzing results
  • Ensure food safety of staged and stored products; reducing risk and waste

Work Environment

  • Work includes standing, sitting and walking for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movement, frequent handwriting and use of personal computer and telephone, lifting and moving of finished orders along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work involves exposure to various work environments, including temperature changes. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 45 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
