Maintenance Technician Full Time

Job Posting: 02/15/2018 Job ID: R0002650 Location: Chestnut Hill, MA Address: Chestnut Hill, 200 Boylston Street Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older. Days Hours Req: Full time applicants will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and must be available Monday through Saturday throughout the year, including some holidays. Sundays are not required but will be paid at time and one half. Shifts vary based on department and typically include a variety of early mornings, afternoons and evenings for all employees. Schedule: Full-time

Our stores depend on the Store Facilities Technician to keep the entire operation running smoothly and ensure a safe and clean working and shopping experience. In this role, you’ll work closely with the store and division maintenance team to execute vital preventative maintenance programs to ensure facility is facility is in good repair and equipment is running smoothly. Customer (What We Believe)

  • Collaborate with Store Maintenance and Store Leadership; execute a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for store equipment and facilities; troubleshoot emergency issues, assist in coordinating and monitoring resources and resolutions; identify complex maintenance and facilities issues, coordinate resources to provide necessary vendor support
  • Inspect general interior and exterior building/equipment conditions; perform simple repairs, replacements, maintenance on basic parts including (but not limited to) case doors, shelving, fixtures, ceiling and floor tiles, carts, racks, gaskets, hinges, filters and basic plumbing/plumbing fixtures, and restroom facilities in order to maintain the high standards of store condition/appearance
  • Perform basic painting/touching up of interior/exterior doors, office, walls, trim, etc.; assist with small in-house, divisional projects, or tasks as needed

Results (What We Measure)

  • Help reduce overall maintenance costs in the store; help monitor vendor activity, quality of results
  • Create and complete work orders in EAM; prioritize responsibilities and requests; attend to critical tasks first; ensure smooth and efficient operations throughout the store
  • Properly handle products, equipment, and tools; keep accurate logs; follow food and human safety, sanitation, and simplification practices and procedures
  • Ensure equipment is properly labeled, asset tagged and communicated to Store Maintenance

Work Environment

  • Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, lifting, bending and reaching
  • Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 1 - 10 pounds with the maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely
  • Work is performed indoors with some exposure to seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather
  • May be exposed to various allergens
  • Will be required to spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours
  • Must be 18 years or older

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School/GED
  • Experience in a handyperson type role in a retail environment
  • Experience with mechanical/technical projects including home improvements, remodeling, general repair work and effective and safe use of power tools
  • Previous mechanical or related experience

Preferred Skills
  • Basic carpentry skills
  • Basic computer skills/knowledge
  • Working knowledge of EAM
