We are committed to providing our customers with great tasting, healthy meals and know that means starting with the best people behind the scenes at our Culinary Innovation Center. As a Team Member III, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and packaging all the fine ingredients to be used in producing Wegmans Soups, Sauces, Potatoes and Marinade products. You’ll be an integral member of the CIC, getting products one step closer to being enjoyed by our customers. Product (What We Do)

  • Follow recipes to gather and prepare ingredients, correctly measure and store items using proper equipment to ensure a consistent outcome for soups, sauces and marinade items
  • Follow a production list and multi-task to complete assignments in the most efficient way possible
  • Inform team members of actions completed by properly labeling all containers and carts, filling out log sheets, and completing tasks on batch cards
  • Perform quality checks and properly handle products to ensure they meet Wegmans food safety standards
  • Practice safety techniques, comply with equipment maintenance and use guidelines and labor laws, safely complete work, and maintain a clean work environment
  • Report any discrepancies in food and human safetyto a supervisor using effective communication practices

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced environment requiring interaction with co-workers
  • Responsible for moving and lifting an average of 10 - 20 pounds of product on a regular basis with an occasional need to lift 50 pounds
  • Typical movements include repetitive arm and hand motions, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching and twisting
  • Will work in rooms with wet and/or humid conditions where temperatures vary from approximately 35°F - 75°F and must comfortably move from one environment to the next
  • May be exposed to various allergens
  • Required to wear company-issued footwear and jackets as well as a hair net, safety goggles and gloves.
  • Required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including no jewelry in the workplace
  • Will spend the majority of time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a grocery retail setting, preferably in a perishable department
