Part Time Maintenance Dispatcher

Days Hours Req: .Candidate must be available 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday 3 days a week. Candidate must be open to occasional weekend days and evenings. Schedule: Part-time

Our stores depend on their Maintenance teams to keep the entire operation running smoothly. In this position, you’ll be providing incredible service to each department by quickly and efficiently responding to calls regarding spills, breaks, or other accidents, as well as maintaining the general upkeep of store grounds.

Product (What We Do)

  • Triage work requests from the stores and dispatch work to in-house and Contractors  · Assist Permit Administrator with maintaining regulatory/compliance and safety program information
  • Document and process maintenance requests in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); Maintain database of contacts and critical information
  • Assist with developing and maintaining Service Level Agreements for new and existing stores
  • Coordinate divisional maintenance work orders with skilled trades and maintenance contractors; Ensure Store Operations team is informed on projects; Follow up with mechanic, store, and contractor personnel for job completion

Results (What We Measure)

  • Assist with expense monitoring and month-end budget reporting
  • Conduct work in a cost-effective manner and incorporate Life-Cycle Management practices
  • Provide reporting to the Division Maintenance Manager for work order volume and asset history information on the total cost of ownership for in-service assets
  • Work with stores and vendors to resolve service request and vendor repair action issues; Evaluate, prioritize, and assign priority of maintenance repair 
  • Assist with assembling maintenance capital and expense budgets and information for annual accruals

Qualifications

What skills, learnings, and experiences are required? 

  • 1 or more years of Store Operations experience at the Team Leader level or equivalent Corporate/Distribution/Manufacturing experience
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with/knowledge of database technology; Proven capability to learn new computer systems quickly, and become a power user/systems expert
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, including familiarity with maintenance parts, equipment, and tasks 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information 
  • Working towards continuous improvement by challenging the way it’s always been done; finding new and creative ways to increase profitably by using the CI 1-2-3 Principles to eliminate waste or simplify the design of a product/process
  • Use data analysis, wisdom, experience, judgment, and past actions as well as input from other sources for decision making, always considering the impact on customers, sales, and contribution (profit) 
  • Practice proper action planning techniques which include managing time and resources, and breaking down work into milestones to accomplish priority activities
  • Relate well to others using interpersonal savvy to foster two-way communication and develop effective relationships; recognize differences in communication styles and maintain composure


What skills, learnings, and experiences are preferred and will set me apart?

  • 2 or more years of experience supporting a maintenance department
  • 4 or more years of experience in the mechanical field in a position which required understanding of mechanical parts related to food production equipment, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, and/or plumbing
  • Experience using EAM computer system
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Accounting


Work environment:

  • Work includes sitting or standing for prolonged periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, frequent use of the computer and telephone, along with continuous interaction with co-workers and vendors/contractors in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Work requires some prolonged walking.
  • The average weight range of items lifted is 1-10 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 20 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Work requires occasional travel to and work in various Wegmans facilities and stores.
  • Work involves exposure to various work environments, including temperature changes.
  • May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).
  • Must be 18 years or older
