Wine Team Leader

Job Posting: 01/08/2018 Job ID: R0000827 Location: Warrington, PA Address: Warrington, 1405 Main St Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older. Days Hours Req: Ideal candidates have the availability to work 5 days per week, between the hours of 6am and 10pm, daily. Shifts are 8 1/2 hours long and are varied. Schedule: Full-time

This role assists in running the Wine store; creating an environment where customers come to shop for the most unique and best-valued wines in the area. They oversee Wine Consultants and Event Coordinators ensuring that employees are providing incredible, knowledge based customer service by assisting customers in choosing the right product which compliments their meal.

  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels and an efficient replenishment process are in place and followed
  • Understand consumer trends and product movement, use this knowledge to accurately forecast needs and order
  • Ensure products are well-merchandised in innovative and eye-appealing displays that reflect featured items, aiming to promote products and drive sales
  • Make procurement decisions; work with vendors to achieve the best possible price, and to procure product for special events and tastings
  • Work with resources such as Menu magazine to plan for seasonal displays, products, and focus areas
  • Ensure team members are upholding state regulations and store policies during the sale of alcohol with no exceptions or violations
  • Manage store operations and team members during early morning, late evening, nighttime, and weekend hours; and in the absence of Store Manager

Work Environment

  • Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, frequent lifting, shelving of product, climbing, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching along with interaction with customers and co-workers. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-40 pounds frequently with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. Work may involve exposure to various environments, include cold temperatures (walk-in coolers) and seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather (loading dock). May receive assistance with heavy items, if available. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
  • Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit. Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Sommelier
  • Customer service experience preferably in a food service, restaurant, grocery or retail setting
  • Experience ordering products and handling inventory
  • Managerial/supervisory experience
  • Passion for food and beverage; knowledge of food and beverage pairings
