Our client is a well-backed start-up operating within the tech sector. They have created innovative solutions that enable tax fraud to be identified and resolved. As part on exciting, ongoing growth plans, they are now looking for a Data Scientist to join their team.

As a Data Scientist, you will be tasked with developing predictive analytics models which identify conforming and non-conforming patterns for data sets and establishing baseline classifications.

You will provide assistance to Data Architects and Developers to automate models within a Big Data (AI) environment.

Using technologies such as RedShift, RDS Aurora and EMR, you will design develop and maintain predicative models. You will also develop algorithmic and programming toolkits, address issues of data validation and correction and support the development design and maintenance of predictive models.

You will have the opportunity to research new technologies and solutions within the AWS ecosystem and will be expected to participate in the agile development life cycle, including stand-ups and planning meetings.

Additionally, within this team environment, you will train and share knowledge with other team members and act as a mentor for data analytics best practice.

Interested? If so, you will need:

- At least two years' experience in the IT industry
- Experience with agile development concepts and practices
- A degree (or equivalent) in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or equivalent

Knowledge of the following is also essential:

- Python
- Airflow
- R
- Big Data technologies
- Linux/UNIX command line
- Git, syn or another version control

This role involves handling sensitive, confidential data. As such, the successful candidate will be required to pass a full background investigation.

Innovative and creative, as a Data Scientist, you will need strong planning and presentation skills, the ability to communicate effectively and a team player mentality.
