Job Description

Have you ever seen a great social media stunt or attended anamazing marketing pop-up event and wondered what the strategic thinking wasbehind that idea? Weber Shandwick, aleading global communications and engagement firm, is seeking a talented andenthusiastic summer 2019 intern in Washington, DC to support its growing teamof creative strategists and account planners. These are the people who dig upinsights, conduct research and analyze data to develop the strategies behindthe creative campaigns.

Our internship is a full-time, paid program designed to complement and enhanceacademic studies through participation in a variety of assignments andprofessional responsibilities. Interns work side by side with the firm'sdiverse team of strategists, analysts, producers, designers, developers andcampaign activators.

Planning interns will follow cultural trends, conduct social media scans,participate in creative briefings, pull and work with data for analytic reports, and support campaigncreation and measurement.

In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, we offer lunchtimeseminars as well as a group project to enhance the learning experience andprovide greater exposure to the marketing communications and creative strategy. Interns are assigned staff mentors tohelp guide and evaluate them through their professional experience and may havethe opportunity to present their project to members of our staff at the end ofthe program.

Qualifications:

* You must be a student or recent college graduate who received academiccredit at an accredited college or university during the spring 2019 semesterwith a GPA of 3.3 or higher
* Rising junior, senior or recent college graduate preferred
* Demonstrate interest and commitment to the field of communications,market research or creative campaign development
* Available to work a full-time schedule from Monday, June 3 - Friday,August 9. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
* Demonstrated leadership, creativity and curiosity
* Interest in market research and familiarity with developmentsin culture, brands and politics
* Knowledge of the media landscape and a variety of social platforms(i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) and the latestnews and trends affecting these channels.
