Education/Experience Requirements

Students must be enrolled in full-time, four year college/university pursuing a Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree. A minimum GPA of 2.8 is required during all coop terms. Students are expected to complete at least two work terms before graduation. Students who have completed Freshman year may be preferred.

Skills preferred:

1. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office application.

2. Commitment to ongoing training and work assignments.

3. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

4. Good customer service skills.

5. Time management and organizational skills.

External Job Responsibilities

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group is seeking an Engineering Co-op for our Milwaukee, WI headquarter location. The co-op program is open to electrical and civil engineering students who are currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering. This program gives students the opportunity to preview the work environment in their field of study and:

* Apply classroom learning
* Combine engineering science with communications and team building skills
* Receive hands-on experience

These openings will have a start date in Summer 2018. As part of the Electric Distribution Asset Management team, Electrical Engineering co-ops and Civil engineering co-ops support tasks associated with the overall planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of the electric distribution system.

* Electrical engineering co-ops will have non-consecutive work assignments in several areas which may include Materials and Standards, Inspection and Maintenance, Planning Support, System Protection, or Reliability.
* Civil engineering co-ops will support the engineering work group responsible for the design and analysis of steel, concrete and foundation structures and developing site plans and storm water drainage plans.
