ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

ADMINISTRATION

POSITION: Finance Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS:

* Minimum of a Bachelor degree in the field of Business Administration with emphasis in accounting and finance, CPA or MBA preferred
* Five years of successful business office or supervisory experience as a school Business Manager or equivalent position
* Possess or be able to obtain MSBO Business Office Manager certification
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Exceptional ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
* Knowledge of state, federal and Wayne County reporting requirements, and school fund accounting
* Ability to supervise employees and manage department workflow

DUTIES:

* Maintain and manage the financial records of all school district funds including compliance with Board policy and the Michigan Public School Accounting Manual
* Supervise the daily operations of the Business Office including review and approval of staff work in the areas of grants, Act 18 center programs, accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable, payroll, benefits and general accounting
* Review and approve cash disbursements and purchase orders
* Assist Director of Finance with budget development, preparation and oversight
* Prepare and/or review all state, federal and Wayne County reports
* Assist Director of Finance in the development and documentation of accounting procedures and internal controls
* Assist with fiscal year end close and annual audit
* Prepare and analyze bids and requests for proposals
* Maintain Business Office documentation including required transparency reporting
* Prepare annual debt disclosure reports
* Manage risk management programs, including commercial and self-insured products
* Other such duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Director of Finance

Such alternatives to the above qualifications and duties as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable. RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Finance SALARY: Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience WORK SCHEDULE: Fifty-two (52) weeks
