Description

Reporting to the Associate Dean,Graphics and Engineering Technologies, the Instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the college. The Instructor shall create an active learning environment that places learning at the center of the educational experience and enables students to demonstrate course competencies.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

Key responsibilities will include developing and evaluating curriculum, teaching program courses and industry workshops, and identifying equipment and supply needs. Flexibility in scheduling may be required with morning, evening, and weekend teaching. The instructor will cooperate with fellow instructors, work with four-year colleges and universities, and facilitate advanced standing agreements with area high schools. The instructor shall participate in professional growth activities and in local and state professional organizations, which are directly related to the respective job responsibilities, and in the best interest of WCTC. The instructor shall represent Waukesha County Technical College to all publics of the District and State agencies where appropriate. Ability to plan, organize, and teach all of the following college level Engineering Technology courses: Electronic Fabrication, Microcontrollers, Electronic Data Communications,AC/DC Circuits and Electronic Devices and Circuits.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

1.Ability todevelop relationshipswith the business community, area high schools, colleges and universities, Program Advisory Board, and work in a multi-cultural environment.

2. Ability to relate successfully with students, staff, faculty, and business people of diverse ethnic, cultural, social and education backgrounds.

3. Must demonstrate sound ethical standards and be a motivated self-starter who strives for efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement.

4. Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and various public individuals and groups through oral and written correspondence.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1.Bachelor's degreein Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, Master's degree desirable,P.E.preferred.

2.Twenty-four months(4,000 hours) of verifiable occupational experience as a fully qualified worker inthe occupational area, of which2,000 hours shall be within the previous five years. One year (2,000 hours) of related occupation experience may be waived if the occupational instructor has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years.

3. Two years of teaching experience preferred.

4. Proficient with contemporary engineering software such as, Labview, Eagle, PSpice and Multisim.

5. Experience with electrical production such as, soldering, board design, andelectronic assembly.

6. Proficient in MS OfficeSuite.

7. Knowledgeable withembedded systems and microcontrollers.

8.Eligibility for WCTC Credentialing System.

WCTC Credentialing:

The successful candidate will be responsible for completing requirements to obtain and maintain currentcredentialing from WCTC.

Hours:

Teaching assignments include variable hours, including days, evenings, and/or weekends.

Salary:

Salary is listed from the minimum of theBachelor's level range, to the midpoint of the Master's level rangeat the 2016-2017 ratesand is based on experience and level of education.

Bachelor's Degree: $52,543 - $68,658

Master's Degree: $57,044 - $76,746

Interview:

Selected applicants will be invited to interview, date to be determined.Out of state candidates can choose to attend, or will have an option to use Skype. All candidates who are invited to the second interview MUST be in person. Travel will be reimbursed up to $300.00 (for the second interview only). Candidatesselected to move forward to the second interview will be required to provide a brief teaching demonstration.
