Job Description

Education: Washington County, Maryland, Public Schools is announcing a Title 1 Achievement Coordinator 

 

 

 

 

Title I Achievement Coordinator – Eastern Elementary and Ruth Ann Monroe Primary Schools

 

Category 05 of the Unit II Salary Scale, 12-month work year

Salary Range:  $74,061 - $106,612

Deadline:  September 1, 2017, or until filled

 

 

Direct Supervisors:

 

Title I School Principals

Executive Director of Elementary Education

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Has eligibility for Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Administrator I endorsement.

• Has five (5) years’ successful experience as a classroom teacher.

• Has a broad knowledge of research based strategies that lead to increased student achievement for economically disadvantaged students and students with disabilities.

• Has commitment to the Master Plan of the Washington County Public Schools in Washington County and a commitment to its achievement.

• Has excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Has positive interpersonal and human relations skills.

• Has the ability to provide professional development for Title I staff.

• Has the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Has knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to Title I.

• Has knowledge of Washington County Public Schools curriculum and current Washington County Public Schools program initiatives.

 

Role Responsibilities

• Assists schools in identifying additional educational assistance and intervention for individual students and subgroups

• Provides feedback and recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of instruction for students who are struggling to achieve proficiency. 

• Collaborates with school administrators, departments, and staff to plan appropriate programs.

• Works with the School Improvement Team to determine and address specific needs and strengths.

• Facilitates participation of students for extended learning and summer school programs.

• Works collaboratively with Lead Teachers to develop strategic plans that address student needs.

• Reviews and analyzes data in order to develop a systemic plan for school improvement.

• Provides support to classroom teachers through informal visits, individual conferences, coaching, modeling, etc.

• Designs, develops, conducts, and/or facilitates professional development as needed.

• Demonstrates courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington Couty Public Schools.

• Supports administration with Title I Compliance

 

• Performs other duties as required.
