Responsibilities

This role is responsible for gathering information, executing SOX controls, preparing workpapers supporting the Non-US income tax provision calculations. The ideal candidate will actively analyze the information received and audit his/her own work. This role will also be responsible for preparing global consolidation workpapers, account reconciliations and analysis of income tax reserves under ASC 740, the income tax related financial results for the Disney Enterprise's Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows on a quarterly basis. This role prepares executive and external summaries, disclosures for executive audiences.

This role supports the quarterly tax provision, monthly forecasts, annual and 5 year operating plans, and unique transactions (e.g. purchase accounting, transaction support). Responsible for training and managing Tax Coordinators and Intern(s).

All tax professionals within Disney Tax Operations must be conversant in and capable of applying correctly all of the current tax laws and regulations as well as US GAAP including ASC 740. They must understand the impact on the Disney financial statements with particular attention to the SOX controls around the tax processes.

To accomplish this role effectively, the tax professional prepares and reviews the financial statements impact on strategic business changes, tax planning, legislative changes, and more. This role will involve data collection, researching and documenting tax accounting positions, recommending processes, resources, and activities to achieve the most desirable outcome.

A great candidate will be a self-starter as they must coordinating activities and communications, clearly articulating information needs, technical concepts, and owning follow through to get to necessary results. Building relationships and consensus will be key to success as the role regularly interacts with business partners both within Tax and external to Tax at all levels of the Enterprise.
