What You'll Do:

Provide Administrative Support. Perform clerical tasks as needed. Organize calendars and schedules for the department. Process expense reports and invoices. Manage complex meeting and travel arrangements.

Create Presentations. Prepare PowerPoint presentations, including preparing and incorporating charts created from Excel and/or Tableau.

Manage Files. Utilize electronic document management systems, e.g. eDOCS, for file management and litigation file management.

Draft Legal Documents. Prepare the first draft of routine documents, including legal documents.

Administer Compliance and Other Databases. Serve as the administrator of the Company's compliance helpline database and the compliance due diligence database, and otherwise assist in the administration of other Company databases. Input necessary information into and generate reports from the databases, as needed. Assist compliance attorney(s) in preparing reports to the Audit Committee.

Assist with Compliance Survey. Assist with the Company's periodic compliance survey distributed to all employees. Coordinate with the Learning Management System (LMS) hosted by the Management & Organization Development Department.

Maintain Company Knowledge. Maintain a working knowledge of the Company, its operating divisions, its subsidiaries, its procedures, and key internal client contacts. Stay abreast of any changes in Legal Department procedures.

Skills You'll Need:

Education. Must have a high school diploma. Paralegal certification is preferred, but not required.

Experience. Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Technology Skills. Must have superior Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. (Proficiency in Google Mail, Google Calendar, and Google Hangouts a plus). Must have the ability to learn and effectively use new software applications and internet-based programs quickly.

Writing Skills. Must have strong writing skills, exhibiting good command of the English language and excellent grammar skills.

Interpersonal Skills. Must exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor. Must have outstanding communication skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels within and outside of the Company.

Time Management Skills. Must have the ability to work quickly and under the pressure of multiple deadlines. Must have the ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Functional Knowledge. Must have knowledge of document formats of a legal nature, including contracts, briefs, and closing documents. Must understand technical legal terminology.

Confidentiality. Must have the ability to maintain highly confidential information in the strictest of confidence. Must display high ethical standards, professional integrity, and discretion.

About Vulcan Materials Company

Vulcan Materials Company is a producer of construction aggregates, primarily crushed stone, sand and gravel, a producer of asphalt mix and concrete and a producer of cement in Florida. It operates in three segments: Aggregates, Asphalt mix and Concrete, and Cement. In April 2008, it announced that it had completed the divestitures required for Vulcan's acquisition of Florida Rock Industries, Inc., which closed on November 16, 2007. The divestitures were completed in a series of three independent transactions. In a transaction with Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., Vulcan sold four quarries and a greenfield site in Georgia and a quarry in Tennessee. With the Luck Stone Corporation, Vulcan exchanged a former Florida Rock quarry and a sales yard in Virginia for Luck Stone quarries in Elkton and Augusta, Virginia. In a third transaction, Vulcan sold its interests in a quarry in Georgia to The Concrete Company, which had been the joint venture partner with Florida Rock in this operation.
