Engineering: VMware, Inc. has multiple openings. Lead UX Designer to develop user interface and user interaction designs for software products and features.

Work location: Palo Alto, CA. All positions require related degree and/or experience and/or skills. Multiple openings at various professional levels.

Develop user interface and user interaction designs for software products and features. Work in an area of specialization to analyze information and user needs to determine and develop software solutions working on problems of moderate scope. Contribute to internal design discussions through think-aloud sessions, storyboarding, interviews, personas, conceptual modeling, high/low fidelity mockups, usability studies, and contextual inquiries. Understand the overall product vision and align UX priorities for the product to it. Understand the overall product strategy, as well as customer and partner needs, to create designs or conduct user research for the product. Create deliverables for the entire design process, including information architecture, interface design, interaction design, and low and high fidelity prototypes.  Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt to new hardware, and improve performance. Customize software solutions to optimize operational efficiency and exercise moderate discretion within defined practices and procedures in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. In connection with the above duties, apply knowledge and/or skills of: user testing; creating usability scripts for tests; running usability tests; information architecture and design flows; UI specification creation.
