Job Description

PetIQ is the premier provider of pet wellness products and services. We are looking to fill an open position of Human Resource Specialist. This position supports the goals of the Human Resources department and the organization through the functional areas of human resources such as employee relations, recruiting, training, HRIS, documentation, and other areas as designated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; recommends and provides input in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
* Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
* Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
* Manages the Worker's Compensation claim reporting and resolution process in partnership with Operations leadership.
* Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career pathing program, writes and places advertisements.
* Conducts employee on-boarding, including I-9 processing and pre-employment screenings,orientation
* Partners with operational leaders in areas of employee relations counseling and conducts exit interviews.
* May participate in department staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
* Participates in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
* Maintains Human Resource Information System records and personnel files. Compiles reports from database. Partner with Payroll to provide accurate and timely employee information for the payroll run cycle.
* Develops, administers, and tracks various training programs and initiatives for both exempt and nonexempt colleagues.
* Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

Educations and/or Work Experience Requirements

* Preferred *
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university *
* Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources experience *
* PHR *
* Superb verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual English/Spanish *)
* Experience in a manufacturing environment *
* Excellent Computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
* Must possess excellent observation, organization, and prioritization skills, and detail oriented
* Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills a must
* Proven ability to work independently to achieve accomplishment
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
