Job Description

The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism seeks a Creative Media Specialist to join its team.

As the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism embarks upon a new era of digital media communication, with a new building that features modular learning spaces and ubiquitous Access to the Adobe Creative Cloud, we are looking to add another savvy multimedia geek to our Creative Media Team.
He/she will help to support our faculty in leveraging the best pedagogical practices and technologies to enhance the student learning experience. He/She will also play a crucial role in supporting our digital literacy efforts and helping to run the Annenberg Digital Lounge and its website (www.annenbergDL.org).

Job Accountabilities:
Creation and ongoing support/management of class-related WordPress sites and student portfolios.
Conceptualization and development of web and media deliverables, including screencasts.
Design and deliver software workshops.
Provide software and technical support for students and faculty.
Conduct research on new and emerging technologies. Make recommendations and generate reports as needed.
Assist with management and creation of user accounts.
Assist with scheduling of student workers.

Required Knowledge/Skills:
-Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud; expertise/certification in at least one program would be highly desirable.
-Fluency in HTML/CSS, ability to create code that is standards-compliant.
-WordPress experience, including an understanding of the API and ability to handle installation, backups, etc.
-Familiarity with responsive design.
-Ability to troubleshoot and quickly learn new software.
-Ability to work efficiently on simultaneous projects and manage time within a fast-paced environment.
-Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people in a patient and friendly manner.
-Be receptive to critical feedback.
-Flexibility in work scheduling is required. May include some evenings and weekends.
-Comfortable working with Macs and PCs.
